Blogging Fertility God?

Ever have some amazing, and completely unexpected opportunity sitting in front of you? Me too. What did you do about your opportunity? Has it changed your life, or are you regretting not seizing it?

I’m sitting next to a Pastor right now as I type these words.

Carlos wanted to be a Pastor since he was seven years old, while growing up in Argentina. Carlos’ Father was a vocational Pastor, meaning he worked 40+ years without a salary. He had a full-time paying job, and was a Pastor on top of that. His Father is 79 now and serving the poorest of the poor in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, at Encuemtro Latino.

In the late 1990′s, my phone rang and the person on the other end offered an opportunity to become a professional speaker. Public speaking is our greatest fear, greater than the fear of death.

And I thought to myself, God must want me to become a comedian or a Pastor and this public speaking thing would provide the necessary experience.

I’m still trying to figure out why.  :)

You have more Love inside you than you realize. I’m absolutely convinced of this. And last night at the Apple Store reinforced this.

Struck up a conversation with an Apple Store employee about Mid Life Celebration, and the whole five (different) daily blogs. The Apple employee looked very surprised. I mean, who writes five (different) daily blogs?

No one.

So anyway, after explaining the business model, the Apple Store employee shared a story about a homeless “beggar”. Instead of giving the beggar money, she went and bought him a meal (maybe from Subway) and then came back and gave it to him.

Wait, this is where it gets even better. She witnessed the beggar share half of the sandwich with another homeless person that she wasn’t even aware was nearby.

Will you do anything today to help make the world a better place? It doesn’t have to be big but it does have to contain Love.

Will Probably Never Be Done

Most of us are intrigued when a fellow human comes along and does something no one has ever done before.

Sisters Clanton and Akin came to talk to me on Friday night, but I did most of the talking. Probably a defense mechanism, designed to control a stereotypical conversation from “door-to-door salespeople”. They were selling the good news of Jesus, according to their Book of Mormon.

They were kind, friendly and very gracious.

Wish these questions would have come rushing forward before they left:

Do you still want or need to speak with me, after knowing I’m a full-blown Christian?

Who’s your target audience?

What’s at the very center of your belief that is critically different from mine?

Life is like a treadmill at a gym. You get on and you go and go, but you never get anywhere.

We go through our motions day after day, sometimes, we have no idea how much time is passing by.

And then things happen. Unexpected things. Things that might leave us feeling regret.

There is no immunity from regret, but there is a prescription for it.

A Beautiful Way To Start Your Day

What if you had started this morning on your knees?

What if, on your knees, you said a short prayer?

And what if you did this again tomorrow, and the next day.

I mean, what’s stopping you?  It can’t be time.

You know, it’s difficult to say no.  What happens when we say no too often?

People stop asking us.
