Let’s pretend neither one of us is going to move an inch

understanding and acceptance
Yesterday from FaceBook, serendipitously.

Let’s pretend for a moment that we’re family, related by blood.

Let’s pretend we have diametrically opposed beliefs about what’s socially acceptable – say equal rights for anyone in the LGBT community.

Let’s pretend neither one of us is going to move an inch in the direction of the other.

I wrote today’s post prompted by a thought i just had (below):

Because we are related by blood, neither of us should expect to get leniency from the other if our beliefs and values are outdated and no longer loving.

Remember when there were separate drinking fountains for two colors of people?

How stupid misguided was that?

If we refuse to love or accept someone because of their color, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, we should simply ask why?

And ask ourselves if Jesus would say, “Well done on your non-acceptance.”

Prayers are answered in random order and sometimes never

be bold
Yesterday at High School office, a pile of college brochures.

Prayers are answered in random order and sometimes never.

Like yesterday at 5pm.

Random order reference here…

A client gave me news that was a 180-degree turn from what we originally thought.

We never saw it coming.

It was an amazing turnaround.

It was also what we expected all along.

We forgave the folks who over-reacted.

Intentionally leaving out details. They don’t matter. What matters is their change of heart.

They saw the light you could say.

Facebook seemed so important a few minutes ago

marketing video crew
The home next door had a film crew shooting a commercial for a local fence company. We talked about us working together.

A month later, i finally reached out to Rod, for an introduction to his Sales Director.

Worrying about keeping up on Facebook?

Don’t want to get left behind on Facebook and other people’s lives?

What about your own?

Your life.

Keeping up.

Falling behind.

Your endless capacity for maintaining a positive attitude?

Your dedication for doing the hard work to create and maintain vibrant health habits?

Your burning desire to live without hate, anger, greed as well as to lead with compassion, forgiveness, and generosity?

Your drive and determination to be the best in the world at what you do for a living?

Your tireless motivation to manage the paperwork of life at home?

Wow.

Facebook seemed so important a few minutes ago.

The fellowship of sinners changes everything we see

Church epiphany
Yesterday, January 7, 2018.

Think Christians are hypocritical?

No doubt, for sure, we are.

Think Christians should get a clue?

Absolutely. Totally agree.

So.

So, are you staying away from a “Church community” because of realities like the two above?

What if.

What if you went into it (Church Community commitment) thinking that organized religion is nothing more than…drum roll…..

The fellowship of sinners.

Seeing Christians as the hypocritical sinners they (we) are changes everything we see.

It doesn’t feel like Sunday

Disney Customer Service Keynote Speakers
Fresh off the eight-day Disney Cruise yesterday at 9am. Note the year? It was 2017 when i wrote this post.

It doesn’t feel like Sunday.

Christmas Eve.

Today.

Sunday.

We have one full day at home in the middle of a 16-day stretch away from home.

If we go to Mass today, it will not be our normal 8:45am.
