Life is unfair paradox

World record blog posts from a single author
Yesterday, February 2, 2019. Tallied the number of published blog posts: 19,057. That number grows by 5 every day, so today’s new total is 19,062. This current number is 1,850 more than the current world record.

Life is unfair has a paradox.

Many, including me at one time, falsing perceive that life is unfair – that life is fairer to some and not as fair to others.

The paradox is this:

Life is fair in that it is unfair to everyone.

Everyone is going through a hell no one else knows about.

The price we pay

IPad set up
Taking risks is risky. So is playing it safe. Giving up a mouse and track pad is scary. I don’t want to but my DNA insists.

Everyone pays a price for everything.

A bold choice is a cheaper price.

It may not seem so at a cursory glance, but reflection reveals the truth.

And we can then deduce…

A safe choice is an expensive price.

Lean into the future.

Be stubburn with your vision.

The long way is the short cut.

Four mornings out of 365

Second Sunday of Advent.

It’s only four Sundays a year.

Time to be in the moment?

Not really, right?

So much to do, especially this time of year.

It’s all about habits and rituals, right?

And priorities.

Four mornings out of 365.

Emotion trumps everything

Bicycling on Sanibel Island
Simple pleasures, like bicycling to breakfast and then biking back to the beach and leaning (parking) your bike against your cottage.

In an emotionally-perfect world, the path your loyal customers take with you would be a straight line going on forever.

Hear about your product.

Buy your product.

Use your product.

Transform their life.

Recommend to everyone.

Buy more of your product.

Repeat.

In reality, this journey is like a vacation tour with stops, experiences, and conversation along the way.

Often, there is a combination of delightful and unexpected surprises, as well as some detours, miscommunication, and frustration.

Our spirit is like shooting basketball free throws

Disney Keynote Speakers
University of Iowa, a few years ago. We get better at laughing when we do it a lot. Even when we are at work.

Our spirit is like shooting basketball free throws.

We improve with practice.

We improve if we follow through.

We improve when we are in a community (team) of like-minded people.

Attending Church is like a team practice.

Team (and solo) practices are also held wherever you are.

Every day.

All day.
