Help me believe I’m someone worth dying for

clever water bottle message
Last night at the Cross Country pasta party – noticed this on the water bottle.

Help me believe i’m someone worth dying for.

You’ve got to believe.

Right?

You’re not just some wondering soul.

Correct?

You, yes you, you are someone worth dying for.

i am?

Thank you Jesus.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

It’s not going to last, so don’t try to make it last

Space Mountain
Walking back to the car, i’ve never seen Space Mountain lit like this before. The combo of artificial light and the sunset was remarkable.

It’s not going to last, so don’t try to make it last.

None of us will live forever.

This means absolutely nothing to most of us.

Now imagine if it meant everything.

Can’t do it, right?

Too intense, no?

Dying with regret sounds too intense, to me, to be honest.

So let me say this in plain English – there has always been a finite time span for each of us.

Time.

Limited.

Extinguishable.

No exceptions.

Period.

Clearer?

The goal, therefore, is to live in the moment, because the moment, in reality, is all we have right now.

We lost a friend, colleague, coach and teacher over the weekend

Epcot water bridge
Little did i know yesterday morning during a run that this photo would be a symbol of hope. It’s speculated we pass through some sort of light on our way to the afterlife.

We lost a friend, colleague, football coach and art teacher over the weekend. He was in his 40’s with no warning signs. He leaves behind his wife and 10th-grade daughter.

At 16, our Son has reached a stage in life were these realities are starting to catch his attention.

Someone who “shouldn’t have” died, died for no apparent reason and without any warning.

Not fair.

Painful.

The school counsellors shared this resource via email last night.

The stages of grief that you may see in your child are:

  1. Denial
  2. Anger
  3. Bargaining
  4. Depression
  5. Acceptance

Please go here for more details about these stages and what to expect.

It is a solemn reminder of life’s fragile nature.

May Brad Ramsey’s Family find enough comfort and peace surrounding them to heal their broken hearts.

Organized just enough to do a few remarkable things

Central Florida Thunderstorm
Red Dirt Road in Clermont, Florida. Last night.

Organized just enough to do a few remarkable things.

Counting my days has been transformational.

My deadline to do everything in life i want to do is June 8, 2019.

Living like there are no days available to me after that date.

Weird.

Unusual.

Obsessive?

Compulsive?

Freakish.

Not to me.

The one word i keep coming back to is this, transformational.

Winnie, can you help my Dad?

Nursing home double occupancy room
Winfield is behind the curtain. A 15-year old is bedside.

Winnie, can you help my Dad?

i know you’re 101 year-old, bed-ridden body leaves you physically incapacitated, but my goodness, your mind – your mind is astonishing.

Can you help me, educate me, and encourage me to develop a deeper and wider wisdom about what it’s like to stare death in the face every day?

And through this and with this, help my 90-year old Father-in-Law fight a good fight every day.
