It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help the another without helping himself.
Emerson
The happiness of life is made up of — the little, soon-forgotten charities of a kiss or a smile, a kind look or heartfelt compliment.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Most write Family. Then i ask them what’s at the center of Family. Many then say God. i press once more, what’s at the center of that. They usually stop with God.
i then reveal my answer and it’s as if they are caught off guard. Why/how did a Christian miss this?
What gift has Providence on man that is so dear to him as his children.
Cicero
The best things are nearest: breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of God just before you.
Robert Louis Stevenson
Gratitude, more aware of what you have and what you don’t. Recognizing the treasures in the simple – a child’s hug, fertile soil, a golden sunset. Relishing in the comfort of the common – a warm bed, a hot meal, a clean shirt.

From Leslie Ferraro’s (joined Disney 1999) notepad gift to all Disney leaders. Maybe 2013-ish?
Leslie didn’t last long, unfortunately, as a female Disney Executive.
Whatever one of us blames in another, each one will find in his own heart.
Seneca
A life is either all spiritual or not spiritual at all. No man can serve two masters. Your life is shaped by the end you live for. You are made in the image of what you desire.

Late afternoon Chick-Fil-A drive-thru lane…fresh flowers in the traffic cone.
Used a couple flip charts as visuals for the audience.
Favorite quote from MLK yesterday.
Note: i did not scan social media. This one appeared randomly from a former Disney Institute colleague an hour ago, on LinkedIn…
And when you discover what you will be in your life, set out to do it as if God Almighty called you at this particular moment in history to do it.
Don’t just set out to do a good job. Set out to do such a good job that the living, the dead or the unborn couldn’t do it any better.
If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, sweep streets like Beethoven composed music, sweep streets like Leontyne Price sings before the Metropolitan Opera.
Sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry. Sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say: Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.
If you can’t be a pine at the top of the hill, be a shrub in the valley. Be the best little shrub on the side of the hill. Be a bush if you can’t be a tree. If you can’t be a highway, just be a trail. If you can’t be a sun, be a star. For it isn’t by size that you win or fail.
Be the best of whatever you are.
