Deep In Thought?

Always Deep In Thought
Always Deep In Thought

Attended the 7:00AM Mass two hours ago here in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Maybe 150 Parishioners, including three children.

Had trouble hearing the Lector.

Don’t particularly recall the message.

But you can be sure I was deep in thought.

Plus, I got to sit between Johnny and Margaret, my In-Laws.

Was deep in thought, wondering if that will be the last Mass we ever attend together.

Tell Them This?

Ever heard of K2?

It’s a mountain, in Pakistan.

A really, really tall mountain.

In fact if it were only 779 feet taller, it would be the world’s tallest.

Surpass Mount Everest as world’s tallest? Wow!

If Mount Everest is my faith, K2 is my fear.

Caution, some think gigantic, unwavering Faith leads to the absence of fear.

It doesn’t.

What does this mean to the average person?

It means believing in God and having tremendous Faith doesn’t guarantee us a fear-immunity.

Has Anyone Ever Asked You?

That Is One Gigantic Cross
That Is One Gigantic Cross

Has anyone ever asked you to describe your Faith?

Or, have you ever thought of trying to explain how great your Faith is?

What if you did?

How would you describe it?

Why?

My Faith is the size of Mount Everest.

Mount Everest, tallest peak in the world at 29,029 feet, or 8,848 meters.

God Keeps Encouraging Me

Doubtful This Was Planned
Doubtful This Was Planned

It seems the harder I work and the more my perfectly-imperfect actions align with my noble and lofty thoughts, the more God keeps encouraging the effort.

This is a blessing and a motivation that was not predictable.

Life isn’t without setbacks, nor is it without enormous stress and pressure. You know exactly what I’m talking about.

Laying it out there, for the whole world to see, is a bold move that God recognizes.

It could all come crumbling down in an instant.

Fall down seven times, get up eight.

Same for you.
