What would a Spring-Breaker do?, spirit

Punta Sur eco beach cozumel
Cozumel beach for lunch.

When you get older and have a well-established career (maybe even a family), you go on Disney Cruises.

To Cozumel. As in Mexico.

Or some other tropical destination.

And you try to cram lost years into five or six days.

Skywatcher, spirit

Mountain sunrise
View from Lake McDonald Lodge. First light on Mt. Stanton (left), directly across the Lodge’s small marina dock. That’s the Continental Divide on the lower right horizon.

Like i always say, when you ask most people if they see the clouds move, they’d probably say yes.

But if you followup with, “When was the last time you ‘for real’ saw it happen?

Probably crickets.

Gut feeling.

Hold on, spirit

Disney Customer Service Speaker, Jeff noel, quote
Our world needs curators. Our world needs creators.

When i became a public speaker (in 1999), and entered an industry that i never intended to, nor wanted to, i discovered some ‘insider’ habits and characteristics that didn’t feel good.

Long story short, i committed to only preaching what i practice.

Didn’t want to become another industry pontificator. Instead, committed to being the best personal-vibrancy practitioner possible.

That said and moving on…

Midday, according to plan, we all knew we’d be driving to Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon.

And six hours earlier…

Lifetime Disney Passes, spirit

Disney’s Magic Kingdom Theme Park.

Having free lifetime Disney Passes makes sense and provides a mountain of goodness…but probably only when you live close enough to visit any day of the week, 365 days a year. And we do.

The math is the math, spirit

Freedom at a young age, for 2.5 weeks.

It’s easy to get sucked into the joyful and inspiring nostalgia of our incredible honeymoon trip.

In my head i envisioned Cheryl joining me on the possible Vancouver Island trip.

Bottomline on this scenario, i’d rather we made an intentional trip to revisit the special places. Trying to piggyback off of a paid business trip seems great…

Until you do the math.

And don’t even get me started on ROI. Didn’t map that out. Why? Didn’t need to. A $25k keynote speech is a massive responsibility. And a conflict of interest with a very special memory lane.
