Don’t follow Christians

Hidden Mickey by jeff noel
Hidden Mickey at Virginia Falls in Glacier National Park. The purpose of Lent is often hidden too.

Don’t follow Christians, follow Jesus.

Christians are messed up because they’re human.

Flawed.

Hopeful.

Caring.

Yet weak.

The devil makes Christians look stupid far too often.

The devil could never make Jesus look stupid.

Don’t follow Christians and expect to not be let down.

PS. Do the math on Christians too. An overwhelming percentage of great humanitarian deeds and inspiring rallying to serve the underserved are initiated and carried out by Christians.

Thank you for going to Mass yesterday

Glacier Park hikes
Glacier National Park. College buddy, Howard Doran, Summer 2017. Looking forward to going to this spot as a 60-year-old in July.

Thank you for going to Mass yesterday.

It’s easy to rationalize skipping Church on Sunday morning.

There’s no personal or group accountability.

What harm can not going do?

The first skip makes the second skip easier.

The second and third skips make the fourth and fifth skips easier.

Enough skips and you start wondering why you used to go all the time.

The best time to go to the Doctor is when you don’t need to.

It’s far too easy to see Sunday incorrectly

Wireless chargers
Picked these up at Apple Store yesterday. Two less steps…plugging in a device to charge, and unplugging it when you need the device.

It’s far too easy to see Sunday incorrectly.

What if it wasn’t?

Obviously it’s ridiculously easy to sleep in.

Easy to use Sunday as a catch-up day.

Time-strapped human beings. So busy that we believe that saving a few seconds here and there make a difference.

What if Sunday was devoted to community, relationships, and being present?

We are here to serve

High School seniors breakfast tradition
The Juniors served the Seniors breakfast in the gym yesterday.
High school father and son
Parents weren’t invited. i asked, school officials said yes. Nice photo bomb Jackson.

We are here to serve.

The High School (HS) Juniors traditionally serve the Seniors breakfast in the final weeks of the school year.

It was fun to “sneak” in as a parent and hang out for a few minutes. This only happens once for some some parents.

There’s no way as a HS Senior i could have ever fathomed the parental milestone HS graduation brings to parents.

At 60, now i get it.

It’s a big deal.

Decision fatigue and our spirit

Disney Institute insights
On Twitter yesterday. Not sure the audience was supposed to take photos, let alone share.

Decision fatigue and our spirit.

Train yourself to feed your spirit and emotional core.

Make decisions that bring you peace and contentment.

That’s the goal of every decision you make – peace and contentment.

The long way is the shortcut.

Treat yourself right and remember that forgiveness and surrender are underrated.
