Jimmy Buffett on a magazine cover — Yesterday in a grocery store checkout line (they didn’t have self-checkout at this store). Was on the phone with the college buddy, Dave, who peaked my interest (late 1970’s) in exploring why he loved Jimmy.

Shortly after relocating from Orlando to the Washington State-Idaho state line in 1982, i began missing warm weather and palm trees. Eastern Washington State is a mostly sunny place. It also has a short summer. Then it’s cold for nine months.

Took a bartending job at a small business with only two cassette tapes. The one i wore out was Buffett’s ‘Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes’.

The rest, as they say, is history.
