College Holiday

College dining hall — Mary Fisher Dining Hall. Debuted 2020.

My advice to high schoolers making a college decision: Be near an airport. Ensure the cafeteria is amazing.

Four (or more) years is a long time to not have great food.

College is a great time to travel. And if you can afford to fly, easy access to an airport is over-focusing.

Red-necker than you

Preparing for liftoff. Four doors so all three of us have ‘indoor’ seats. Yet a large enough truck bed to hold all your college stuff from five years.

My hometown of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania didn’t have a traffic light for like 250 years. And the first one only flashed yellow.

Never see it coming?

Caterpillar chrysalis — These always make me smile.

Never seeing things coming is a blessing and a curse.

Seeing the chrysalis prompted a question for the first time ever. A question that challenges convention thinking that a caterpillar never sees the butterfly coming.

As caterpillars grow and mature, they must see other chrysalis and butterflies. Right?

If they have the innate knowledge to know when and how to stop being a caterpillar, makes sense to me they know what they’re signing up for.

Insight: While we may not see exactly what is coming for us personally, we can see others ahead of us and have a decent idea what the ‘aging landscape’ generally offers. Then, we can prepare accordingly, to the best of our (unknown) ability.
