What do you use as a quick reference? You know, for locking in a story or a metaphor for something critical you expect from young children?

The older children get, the more there is to worry about (right?), like sleepovers at someone else’s place. You hope and pray that young boys will follow a good path and not stray too far from it.

Children have extremely limited experience in dealing with temptation, with peer pressure, and ultimately, they choose a path.

Our son (10) grew up watching Big Idea’s Veggie Tales. I pulled out the morale of the story from Rack, Shack & Benny last night: Do what you know to be right, even if everyone else isn’t.

Chapin asked me why I always use movies to make “philosophical” points. I smiled.
