The temptation to make exceptions

Page 100 from mid Life Celebration
Incremental progress adds up over time. So does incremental decline.

The temptation to make exceptions. How often does it happen? Daily, weekly, monthly, never? Or maybe all the time?

There is an exception to every rule, or so it is said.

Maybe we become the exception when we no longer are willing to make (hypocritical) exceptions.

Are we victims of the rules we live by?

Enormous dictionary in Church library
Good thing this is a dictionary and not a rule book. Geez, could you imagine?

Are we victims of the rules we live by?

Before we start sizing up others, perhaps it’s best to take what we see in others and ask ourselves, “Is what is so obviously missing from their lives as easy for them to spot in mine?”

How Can We Use Our Imperfections?

Gosh darn vultures. You know what, we need these beautiful creatures.

Been classically trained on a world class stage, with incomparable volume, to observe more than just the surface happenings. So when I hear critics promoting inaccuracies and inconsistencies, I often feel like maybe they can’t see the forest for the trees.

My reality check is always the mirror. Ain’t in no position to judge another. None. Got so many rough edges to polish, it’ll take a lifetime.

You May Be The Only Jesus

And Some Are Watch All Day, Everyday!
And Some Are Watching All Day, Everyday!

How often do you catch yourself being a hypocrite?

Probably rarely happens.

How often do others catch you?

Probably all the time.

My theory is this, if you don’t spend a lot of time with self-reflection, you are probably sending the wrong message.

A hard pill to swallow, but go ahead and try to tell me this is a lie.

What’s on the line, every minute of every day is simply this: You may be the only Jesus people see.
