grandpa doing beer and smoking cigarette — Russ was ‘Mammaw’s” boyfriend my entire life. We never knew our real grandfather. Russ filled that role until Mammaw died. Russ visited her and ‘cared’ for her for all the years she lived in a nursing home with Alzheimer’s. Note the cigarette in his hand?

It’s not lost on me that a physically healthy body can unexpectedly be attacked neurologically.

Insight: In giving, you get. Whatever you put out into the world.

For decades now, i strive to only give positive energy.

With a heavy heart and a track record of 110 days of no definitive progress, i knew i would project to Dr Kumar a great big Disney smile when he entered the exam room.

Smiling wasn’t what i was feeling, but it’s a gift i wanted to give.

Never swim alone

i knew if we didn’t do the bicycle trip in 1984, we’d never do it.

We didn’t need a lot of money.

But we did need a fair amount of time.

With $200 cash (to our name) and no jobs lined up, we were ready for an unforgettable adventure/honeymoon.

Note: We did have a tiny savings check we knew we’d need when we permanently relocated to Orlando. Apartment deposit and first month’s rent, etc.
