Where Is Your Sanctuary?

It It A Sanctuary To A Prisoner?
It It A Sanctuary To A Prisoner?

Where is your sanctuary?

Where do you go to think special thoughts, and do special things?

How often do you treat yourself?

Or, is it not a treat, but rather a daily obligation?

Where is your sanctuary?

For many, and I know this all too well, work is their sanctuary, their special place.

Like this Leopard and the workaholic, does their sanctuary become a prison?

Truth Is Reality

Life Can Be Confusing
Life Can Be Confusing

“Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.” – Leo Tolstoy

The answers to life’s big questions are so simple, most people will never discover them.

And when you are at work, are you and example of great leadership or a warning for what not to do?

“Please Bless Everyone Gathered Here…”

A Strong Foundation Is Key
A Strong Foundation Is Key

So I began with the prayer with the blog title here and then continued on with this:

“All the adults and all the children.

Dear Heavenly Father, please bless the adults with your wisdom and your guidance to complete a successful year.

And please bless the children with the determination to serve, to strive and not to yield.

In Jesus name we pray. Amen.”

Our Pack leader agreed, just before the inaugural meeting started – short and sweet – 1st & 2nd graders attention spans must be respected at 7PM.

There is an art to saying a lot with a little.

It works with 6 and 7 year olds, and it’s effective at work too.

Cub Scout Chaplain?

WWJD?
WWJD?

Last night was our first Cub Scout meeting of the new school year. Roughly a 50% increase from last year. Growth has it’s rewards and it’s opportunities.

Months ago, our Pack leader phoned to ask me to be our Pack’s Chaplain.

Me? A Chaplain? Why?

Perhaps all the others said no. Or, maybe I was the first choice.

It doesn’t matter.

God places things before us sometimes that we neither understand how or why.

It’s the same with you. What process do you follow to discern your next step(s)?

You know, my first reaction was to decline the responsibility, thinking I’m not qualified enough, not experienced enough, what if I look foolish.

So last night, at 7:10PM, it hit me.

In the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit….

Leadership is an awesome, and often times sacred, responsibility.

You’re Crystal Clear On Your Purpose?

How Big Is Your Glass?
How Big Is Your Glass?

Is your glass half empty or half full?

Good news either way.

Really?

Yes, if you’re glass is half-empty, you can be certain it needs to be filled.

If it’s already full, taste it and make sure it’s full of your life’s purpose.

Hint: It’s really simple and it’s the same for all of us.

If your glass is full of some lesser purpose, you can change it to a better purpose.

Same thing goes for Leadership as well.
