Captiva Day 3, spirit

Never gets old. About 50 meters from our room. The Gulf is 100 meters to the West (which we see without leaving our room, the bay is 50 meters walk to the East.

WTF, “Wow, that’s funny!”
15-second video: Just another day in paradise.

It’s fun to have attended Sanibel-Captiva “Church” since 1988 (38 years).

It’s weird to feel mostly expert-level, and yet total newbie-level on Captiva.

But more than weird, it’s a blast.

Hallelujah.

Kudos to the Resort decorating team. Nailed it.

Island Church buildings.

Some you drive by.

Some you walk by.

Some you go in.

Some you sleep in.

Captiva Day 1, spirit

Santa climbing s palm tree
A delightful surprise.

Was able to creatively shorten my drive-time perception.

Music rotation was the key.

Also made an unusually challenging commitment to stop looking at the clock and map milage.

Family sitting on the floor with bags of Christmas goodies
Tried to do a self-timer selfie-mode. Too challenging, so here’s the regular selfie that somehow modified the focus.

Classic…

In the giving we receive.

Wrap like you mean it

red and green wrapping paper
The office closet has a 18″ x 48″ table surface. Good for spreading things out.

Christmas is when you get stuff.

For Christians, it’s when we get a Savior.

It’s also when we get commercially-minded and buy (more-than-necessary) stuff for others.

All the stuff ‘has’ to be wrapped.

Why?

Probably because the anticipation of the gift unwrapping is symbolic of what happened 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem.
