What is the limit to our thinking and doing?

Glacier National Park
Think BIG – the sky’s the limit.

In two days, Sunday, when it’s time to return to Walt Disney World (home), will we be mindful of missing our 8:45am Mass at Holy Family?

And assuming we are mindful, how will we manage our absence?

What does turning 17 mean to you spiritually?

Windermere Prep athletic fields
To be one of the few on campus as the Summer sun rises is a weirdly spiritual experience – but only if you reflect on what’s in front of you.

What does turning 17 mean to you spiritually?

Kids react to Rock Music (video)

Kids are influenced by many things.

Especially music.

One Christmas, my cousin Randy (same age as me) got me two Rock & Roll albums when i was 12 (i think).

Led Zeppelin IV and Black Sabbath Paranoid.

My life was never the same after that exposure.

Not in a bad way.

But The Osmonds and The Jackson 5 no longer made me feel the same as Rock & Roll.

Are you familiar with the body of their work and do you like it?

It took 57 years for me to get here

Grinnell Glacier Overlook
Grinnell Glacier Overlook – once in a lifetime opportunity.

Grinnell Glacier Overlook
Grinnell Glacier Overlook – totally worth it.

It took 57 years for me to get here in 2016.

That’s 44 years of visiting Glacier.

Never once going on Highline Trail.

Why?

Because of the first part where the cable is provided as you walk past a steep cliff.

And now?

Can’t imagine visiting Glacier with hiking Highline Trail.

Someday is not a day of the week

Highline Trail GNP
Trail and view looking South toward Lake McDonald (on the other side of the ridge).

Above: an extraordinary view only available to hikers.

And to hikers, only those who take the half-mile (one-mile round trip) spur off Highline Trail to Grinnell Glacier overlook.

Assume you didn’t know about the spur, and only knew of Highline Trail as the most popular hike.

The spur climb is steep and potentially dangerous when trail traffic is both ways.

Would you do it or save it for another time?
