I’ll drink to “You’re gonna miss this”

Last night on the radio driving home from school, back to back songs that provided a HUGE pause-and-reflect moment…

All those things we complain about, and want to hurry to leave behind… we’re gonna miss them..

All you gotta do is put a drink in my hand… used to could…

One thing I will not miss? Having a drink in my hand (all the time).

Sure, I’ve missed it. My last drink was December 30, 2001. New Years Eve 2001 was dry, dry, dry.

Another anniversary looms on April Fools Day

impossible goals
it was goofy to think the daily blogging and the daily praying would last past 100 days

Another anniversary looms on April Fools Day. Sure, the five-a-day blogging, blah, blah, blah, right?

In 2009, the same day the blogging started, I also began a daily habit of starting each day on my knees in prayer, reciting what I consider to be the three most important prayers for peace, joy, and love.

The point? Are we changing as much as we wish, and gossip, others would?

Living in the moment?

Thoreau
An interesting discovery… my hotel is on Thoreau Drive… what does this mean, if anything?

Living in the moment? I do not want to get to the end of life and realize I had not begun to live.

Spent the past 24 hours together with friend I haven’t worked with in years. She told me she thinks I really live in the moment.

Am only telling you this because in 53 years, no one has made that specific comment. Wondering if positive change begun in earnest 13 years ago is now noticeable.

If the actions of one taint the whole, then is that our standard?

judgement
one bad apple spoils the whole bunch, right? all Presidents are bad then, right?

If the actions of one taint the whole, then what happens to our standard?

The standard could go up and become more strict, say like guns laws, potentially. Or go down as we become more desensitized to inappropriate behavior…

… are all Presidents bad because Bill Clinton, a husband, father to a young daughter, and President of the United States, had sexual relations with a college intern?

Is every Dad who involves his child in Boy Scouts bad because of controversial Scouting practices? Is every Priest bad because of the actions of a few misguided Priests? Is every woman bad because a few have cheated on their husbands?
