Day two for a new start

Senior couple walking near Walt Disney World
Yesterday. They are out everyday. Guarantee you they are grateful to be able to walk..

A friend sent this yesterday. This is another way of saying what i always say, “Be grateful for everything.”

As a Cast Member that was on the beach starting a campfire at the (Disney’s) Beach Club, one (Cast Member) demonstrated for me, “Blow in your hand – feel that, it’s a gift to be alive”.

Yesterday was day two of a new start for a dear friend.

Mid Life Celebration.

The real blessings are modest

Devils Head at Chimney Rock
Two days ago.

Life is full of disappointment. It is also full of the opposite.

We see what we want to see.

The real blessings are modest. They are introverts. Often, we don’t even know they are in the room with us.

i am so thankful that i can run. Period.

Competition is simply a motivational log to throw on the fire.

There are many more logs in the forest.

To complain is to fail

Victor Frankl quote
Photo from a friend’s Facebook update. Frankl was in a Nazi Concentration Camp.

Dear runner with lofty dreams, very sorry to hear about the recent injury (still undiagnosed) that has prevented you from maximizing your training in the final month leading up to the 2015 Masters Track & Field National Championships.

Here’s God’s advice:

Get over it.

To complain is to fail.

Count your blessings.

There are many.

By the time you finish thinking about all of them, your injury will be healed and there will be another race to run.

You’re welcome.

i am a wretch

Nature trail
From a Florida Zoo, mercy and kindness extended to a tree.

i am a wretch.

Even though i thought i was ‘good’.

So on April Fool’s Day 2009 i began the day on my knees, saying three special prayers.

  1. The Lord’s Prayer
  2. Hail Mary
  3. A special prayer i created as an extension of “saying Grace”

This is, coincidently, the same day i began the 100-day writer’s bootcamp.

Same result too.

Haven’t missed a single day.

Ever.
