Busy squared

Took this photo yesterday and texted it to Cheryl. Requested two more bags. Didn’t know i’d be using the word devil and 6-6-6.

The devil doesn’t make us bad. The devil makes us busy.

Two pieces

There are two pieces to peace…

No peace without contentment. No contentment without balance.

How i create spiritual vibrancy

Disney Institute speaker Jeff Noel and Mickey Mouse
Birds of a feather? Guess.

Things i do to create (3) spiritual vibrancy:

  • (4) Create work vibrancy
  • (5) Create home vibrancy
  • (1) Create mental vibrancy
  • (2) Create physical vibrancy

Zealot’s do not budge

child watering flowers
This $2.00 K-Mart (remember K-Mart) poster reflects the vision i had of our home long before we became parents.

The classic zealot move is the move where you refuse to budge, refusing to accept any other view than your “etched in stone” view.

Can you imagine?

Of course.

Another classic zealot characteristic is believing you have no blind spots.

We clearly see the plank in other’s eye, yet we deny the plank in our eye.

This is bad news for all us us, trying to imagine our blindspots.

We all have blindspots.

The good news, you are in charge of the things you can control. You can over-focus on uncovering the truth about your blindspots. It may take a lifetime.

You are also in charge of completely letting go of the things you cannot control.

How cool is that?

How can you not?

drawing in the sand
This is a finger drawing of Mid Life Celebration’s five big choices: mind, body, spirit, work, home.

How can you not pause each morning for one or two minutes, on your knees, to center your spiritual core?

Thank God you recognized how grateful you were those first mornings at home…

Awaken, kiss Cheryl, walk down the hall to our four-day old son’s room, kiss his head, drop to my knees and give thinks to God for the miracle of parenthood.

Our son’s first three days were in a hospital room.

Every morning it was the same.

Wouldn’t start prolific blogging for another nine years.

Maybe it was those 18-years of daily dropping to the knees, walks down the hall to kiss our son’s head – maybe that was the catalyst for prolific daily blogging.

Maybe the daily, never-missing-a-day routine was (is) simply a manifestation of personal growth in being present.

Present every day.

All day.
