New views

Yesterday at Siyeh Pass, an unknown valley i discovered for the first time in 46 years.

Siyeh Pass trail was new to Rob and me yesterday. Brian, a St Mary Lodge employee was hiking it for the second time this Summer.

It was spiritual for me.

So many Glacier hikes under my belt.

Never Siyeh Pass trail.

Afterwards, i wondered why.

If you don’t have to, spiritually

Looking out at your life’s horizon, may you feel and enjoy peace and contentment.

If you don’t have to, why would you?

You’re an adult and you can take any spiritual life path you want, or none at all.

You’re in charge of your emotional core.

So, if you are not obligated nor mandated to have deep peace and contentment, why would you invest the time, energy, and karma to develop, maintain, and enhance your peace and contentment?

Thank you Universe

Hidden Lake sits at 6,375′. The Disney figurines are sitting at 7,800′.

Thank you Universe for…

  • A mind to think of a great plan.
  • A body to thrive in a rugged environment.
  • A spirit to dream big, hope for a better future, and an appreciation for all the goodness in my path.
  • Work that facilitates doing transformational activities that make a difference in the lives of so many.
  • A desire and willingness to build a portable HQ (home) that can be used anywhere at anytime.

Thanks again, Universe.

Improving your enthusiasm

Lunch spot yesterday at Hidden Lake.
Context.

We need great habits and rituals to maintain and improve our enthusiasm. Our brain (and heart) reacts and responds to the thoughts and feelings we feed it.

If we habitually “go with the flow,” we’re living a life by default – letting everything around us program our thoughts and feelings and priorities.

By design or by default.

Either way deeply shapes our daily habits and rituals.

And our enthusiasm.

Going to the Sun mountain

Going-to-the-Sun mountain
This angle of Going-to-the-Sun Mountain can only be attained one way. Heavy Runner in foreground.

Yesterday was a spiritual experience.

Overcoming a great fear is liberating.

Overcoming is confidence-building.

Thank you to Stacy and Steve for facilitating the opportunity. It was because of their generosity that i know the view from 9,156′.
