Disney Magic can be a spiritual experience

On our way to the Kalispell airport.
They are on their way to Glacier National Park. Just a little spontaneous Disney Magic.
On Sun Road last night while driving East.
Oberlin on the left, as the drive continued up to Logan Pass.
The final two miles West of Logan Pass looked like this. Drove about 5 MPH.
Do i ever not stop and take a photo here? No. last night about 7:30 PM.
Fog not as thick on East side. Heavy Runner is the tallest here.

Spent the afternoon at the Columbia Falls public library doing work and didn’t leave until 5:00 PM.

The drive to Swiftcurrent Motor Inn will take about three hours.

The drive isn’t that long, but the 3-hour timing factors in photo stops.

You just never know

We hiked the last half of The Loop trail with a couple from Texas. They have summited the highest peak in 49/50 States. Only Denali in Alaska eludes them.
Same trail (The Loop), different mood with the clouds. Thankful it wasn’t raining.
First time seeing this. Yesterday on the drive from The Loop to Lake McDonald Lodge.

The couple we hiked the final two miles with yesterday have hiked the highest summits in 49 of 50 States. Not only that, they have also summited the highest peak in Africa and in Russia.

Djuan has done the highest peak on all 7 continents. His Everest credit is from a HALO jump. HALO stands for High Altitude Low Opening.

The conversations they had about specific far-off villages, trails, people and camp sites was astounding.

You just never know what a stranger knows that you know, that almost no one else in the world knows.

Take the weather with you

The spiritual trinity at Logan Pass (L-R): Reynolds, Oberlin, and Clements. Unseen from Logan Pass is Bearhat Mountain in the middle background. Photo: Last night 7:45 PM.

The Universe blessed us with a picture perfect day yesterday.

Today is scheduled for rain so we will depart about 27 hours earlier than planned.

Made a last-minute reservation for Lake McDonald Lodge for tonight. Small cabin, two beds.

Proactive personal leadership.

PS. It’s too late to cancel tonight’s Granite room for a refund.

Trail maker?

From the rain-forest-like hike two days ago.

Alan (hiking buddy from Lake McDonald Lodge) told me that the Blackfeet would tie a knot in a very young tree so that as it grew it became a trail maker.

True?

Don’t know, but it sure sounds reasonable and “Disney” innovative.

Feel it

In the shade in rainforest-like vegetation.

Feel it.

What?

Your life.

Does it feel like something?

Does it inspire you?

The journey is the joy, not the destination.

The destination never comes.

Well, depending what you believe, death is the destination – the third most magnificent day in your life.

The other two magnificent days are the day you’re born and the day you figure out why.
