Please don’t use coercion to get me to forward those Christian emails

Comply or else...
Comply or else…

Yesterday, got one of those “Christian” emails about: “Isn’t it funny how we’ll forward a thousand joke emails to our friends but not forward a Christian email”.

Over the years, forwarding email chains has been discontinued.

Why not send a gift others would want to share for the sheer joy of it, versus coercion?

Hoping we all fully realize our amazing Grace and unlimited potential today, coerced or otherwise.

Is it a travesty when this happens and is it avoidable?

photo of dog playing is clay sand, looking embarrassed
sheesh, this is embarrassing (but important) to say…

Is it a travesty when this happens and is it avoidable?

  • preaching how we should honor our Father
  • ignoring the gift of health that our Father has given us
  • the spiritual leader is grossly overweight
  • being singularly focused on the mystery of Faith
  • what about the Faith that maintaining our health metrics honors our creator?

While this may sound hurtful, it’s meant to ask a really important question, “Where do we look for balance in the real world?”

Why you should stop trying to get healthy

Young people will look at us as an example or a warning. An inspiration, or an excuse.

Obama Care protest

Why should you stop trying to get healthy? Because it doesn’t work. Think about it. Most people (maybe you, and for a long time, me) move in the direction of some plan (sunset), diet, program, gimmick.

Turn around (moonrise) and head the other way… towards purpose, focus, discipline… a different way of life.

Insight: Truly, this is your only hope. Gimmicks and short-term programs fail. Your hope is in making slow and steady changes that come from a sense of purpose.

My God, help me please (thank you in advance)

My God, help me please. Writing today’s post on a plane. Incredibly distracted by the woman typing next to me. Even Bose headphones won’t drown her rapid, loud typing. But you see, a high school classmate’s son just returned from Afghanistan, sadly, in a coffin.

The stupid little things that annoy us are really nothing. Really.
