The image of hardly attending Church this Summer.

Two trains of thought:

i’m a bad person because i’m not fulfilling a sacred obligation to demonstrate my faith.

i’m smart to take a Summer sabbatical after 15 years, to help me appreciate what i’m missing and what i had.

Midlife perspective can be transformational.

But only if we enjoy enough solitude to be able to notice.

Can everyday be Flag day?

Homeowner's American Flag
The original American Flag went up June 11, 2001.

Flag day was two days ago, and yesterday morning before the Foundation Academy High School tour, shot this photo.

We’ve been in our current home 23 years. Cheryl used to change the flag seasonally…Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer themed flags. In June 2001 she put up an American Flag. Three months later (9/11), she decided to not put up a Fall themed flag.

One theme. Fourteen consecutive years.

There’s a new sheriff in town

New Priest at Holy Family Orlando
Father Benjamin has the passion for the Christ.

New Priest at Holy Family Orlando
Father Ennis on left. Father Benjamin, dark hair.

There’s a new sheriff in town as they say. A rookie though. Only wearing his badge for two years.

Father Benjamin reminds Cheryl and i of what Father Ennis must have been like when he first started out 50 years ago.

The passion for the Christ is inspiring.

Only the inspired inspire.

Remember all the American flags back in the day?

American Flag in Gold's Gym parking lot.
American Flag in Gold’s Gym parking lot, yesterday.

Orlando Gold's Gym parking lot
Spent a few minutes talking with those guys about their flag hanging from their truck

Today is Saturday of the 2015 Memorial Day weekend. Yesterday (Friday) walking to my car after a Gold’s Gym workout, a pickup truck pulls in next to me.

Approached the driver asking about the flag. Thanked him for his American pride.

God bless America.

God bless everyone who actively supports and enlists because of the notion that freedom and justice are worth dying for.
