The Highline Trail was no less dangerous yesterday than a few days before, but it was far less intimidating the second time around. This afforded Cheryl the opportunity to appreciate what we (our son and i) did a few days prior. Until you conquer this personally, you have no idea – i literally didn’t know if i’d be able to turn around and go back.
When our Son and i hiked the scary 200 meter portion a few days prior, i didn’t know if i had the ability to turn around and return to the Logan Pass Visitor Center. Without going back over the same 200 meters we had just finished, it’s an 11-mile walk to the nearest road trailhead, with no other options; and no way to let Cheryl know what was happening. It would have been a disaster – that’s how afraid i was.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
