A bug’s life was not a Disney Pixar movie

Catching a bug in a house

A bug’s life was not a Disney Pixar movie.

Well, it is, but it wasn’t yesterday morning.

Wasp flying around light above kitchen sink. Meant to free it before leaving for school and our son was grateful for the compassion.

Making breakfast and forgot, until i was remind upon returning home.

Character is what we do when no one is looking, which is most of the time.

Take what you can get

Google Maps showing traffic conditions

Bad news last night, the traffic in every direction was gridlocked.

The good news is we were flexible and creative.

We changed our plan and quickly returned to the Marriott.

It depends on one thing

Trip insurance screen shot
Photo of trip insurance purchased yesterday.

In the blue line above is the cost of trip insurance for the flights i booked yesterday. Wouldn’t it be nice if every trip came with trip insurance?

Insurance for what?

  1. A refund?
  2. A great experience?

Paid insurance handles the first. Our faith handles the second.

He looked like Jesus on the Cross as he lie in bed

jeff noel quote
(photo and art: Pati Hyun. Quote from Jack’s son.)

Many of us for various reasons don’t see our parents much. In the 20 years from my 21st birthday to the 41st, i rarely saw my Dad.

On April 10, 2001, Jack Noel took his final breath.

It was somewhere around 1:18am at the York Country Hospital and Home.

It was Good Friday.

He looked like Jesus on the Cross as he lie in bed.

How do i know?

Because God provided the extraordinary opportunity to be there in person.

When someone dies what do we say?

Infamous Magic Kingdom Honey Bucket
The Honey Bucket (for Horse excrement). A metaphor for our lives.

When someone dies what do we say?

  • So sorry.
  • Sorry for your loss.
  • Praying for you and your family.

What if:

  • You were so lucky to have her in your life.
  • What a blessing he must have been.
  • Treasure the wisdom you gained.

We are all going to die. Maybe the best defense is a good offense:

Live like you mean it.

Death isn’t what we fear. We fear that we waited too long to start living fully in our mundane, routine, daily-grind moments.
