Blogging’s hidden blessing, spirit

Daily, prolific blogging can eventually feel like a monkey on your back. Hopefully it’s Curious George, or Chapin.

Cheryl eating our signature peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich. We used our bicycle panniers as our sandwich preparation countertop. On our honeymoon, bicycling through the Puget Sound before biking across Washington State. Blogging allows me the blessing of sharing what i want, when i want, in the way i want. Blogging allows me to do this prolifically too.

Began Blogging In 2nd Grade. Guess who started him on this path.

Dear Son, to me, blogging’s hidden blessing is its love for the writer.

Dear Son, loving yourself first teaches you how to love others.

Dear Son, teaching yourself first teaches you how to teach others.

Dear Son, forgiving yourself first teaches you how to forgive others.

Dear Son, being patient with yourself first teaches you how to be patient with others.

Dear Son, caring for your emotional health first, well, it teaches you how to care for others.

Dear Son, serving yourself first teaches you how to serve others.

One day it will, spirit

Dining Like Royalty
Our bicycle honeymoon included several days using Ferries to island-hop in Washington’s Puget Sound. A rustic campground dinner. Using a fallen log as our chairs. A stump for a cooking table. Our tent behind us. To get us both in the photo, had to use a self-timer. Camera probably sitting on another stump.

One day it will.

Will what?

One day will come.

And it reminds me of a Garth Brooks song…

If Tomorrow Never Comes (wikipedia’s song summary). By the way, Garth calls this his signature song. It was his first hit single off his 1989 debut album. In 1991, it earned Country Music’s “Single of the Year” honors.

Chapin, on this day, April 11, 2026, if tomorrow never comes, you absolutely need to know this…

This song is one of my all-time favorite love songs. It has guided me since 1989 with a simple mantra to remind me how lucky i am to love and be loved by Mom and You. You can listen to the You Tube “live” version here.

Years ago Garth took his music off all the music streaming platforms. He opted to sell his music directly to listeners. No middle-person. That’s why this one You Tube clip is so special.

Redwood the Legend

My same age cousin, Redwood, sent me this yesterday. He was apologizing for losing my number because something happened to his phone. He had to get a new one and he wasn’t on iCloud or whatever, so he had no backup for his contacts.

Before Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, i was an Osmond Brothers and Jackson 5 fan.

Thank you, Redwood, for those first two Rock and Roll albums you gave me at Christmas in 1972.

Led Zeppelin IV and Black Sabbath Paranoid exposed me to my favorite music genre.

We are born to live and die

daisies
The goal of every living thing is to reproduce. Period.
Dandelion seeds
Mission accomplished.

We are born to reproduce.

After we reproduce (become parents), decline begins.

Two thoughts:

  1. There’s an exception to every rule (even this rule)
  2. Joy is a natural part of the pre-parenting stage (parenting is hard work)

Wisdom: Use your human ability to exploit, scale, enjoy, and teach the second thought – making joy last well past the pre-adult responsibility stage.

Seems like common sense

On stage two nights ago, amongst the human cast, are a camel (left), a donkey (rightish), and five goats (middle). There was a newborn human baby too.
Newborn human baby. How? Even with ear protection the place was insanely loud.

Seems like common sense.

What?

The more you do something the better at it you get.

Say, recording short business videos from observation coupled with time-tested, world-renowned Disney insight.
