Compounded hope, spirit

mountains
Same spot as earlier two photos in previous blog (lane8.org). Same day. Same minute.

My spiritually compounded hope (goal) is to die with peace and contentment.

Peace with who i am.

Content with what i have.

Note: Peace and contentment assumes that everyone i love knows where they stand with me. And the two people that matter most are obvious. It’s not that the others aren’t important, it’s just that no one can hold a candle to Cheryl and Chapin.

Disciplined hope, spirit

Continental Divide, West side. Bishops Cap prominently visible.

Continental Divide, East side. Bishops Cap, left-center ridge, unrecognizable from here. That is, unless you know where you are and what you’re looking at. Then, it’s easily and prominently visible.

Disciplined hope?

Totally.

My ‘disciplined’ spiritual hope is consistently, constantly, fed with gratitude.

i find it impossible to be unhappy while i am feeling grateful.

i find it’s possible to always be happy while i am feeling grateful.

It is disciplined hope that must be set to ‘always’.

Remember, sometimes is the enemy of always.

Note: Your mileage may vary. In my lifetime, my tests and studies reveal this remarkable phenomenon.

Habitual hope, spirit

Midway on left edge you can see a trail. Mt Siyeh, left, is one of only six Glacier peaks over 10,000′.

Walked 11 miles roundtrip to here and back home yesterday, January 2, 2026. Walt Disney World is tied with Glacier as my third favorite place in the world.
17-second video: Final video from yesterday’s sunset. Took nine, shared three.

There are many places in our yard from which to watch sunsets.

Each month offers more or fewer advantages.

And then we have specific spots that never fail, any month of the year. They are more challenging to access, but still relatively easy.

This sunrise and sunset knowledge comes from experience.

This experience comes from repetition.

Habits.

Simply for sunsets and sunrises.

So imagine the repetition for everything i hope for all day, everyday.

Habitual hope.

Hope that happens in my heart without even trying to hope.

Hope just happens, without thinking.

Exploit hope, spirit

snow covered mountains and lake
Wild Goose Island is visible if you zoom in. This is Glacier’s most photographed spot. But not from this vantage. Conservatively, and competently, estimate 99.999% of visitors never walk to this shoreline.

What the New Year brings you proportionally depends on what you bring to 2026.

Same for each month, week, day, and moment.

Same for each hope, prayer, adversity, kindness, surrender, and deed.

Faithfully bring your best if you want to consistently be your best.

Welcome 2026, spirit

Floral Park. This is on my ‘possibility’ list. No idea who took this photo. Peaks R-L: Little Matterhorn, Edwards, Gunsight, then Sperry Glacier. Have been to Sperry Glacier many times, via Sperry Chalet.

You were born to triumph with optimism and possibility.

Pray like you mean it.

Serve like you mean it.

Forgive like you mean it.

Surrender like you mean it.

Master, and enjoy, gratitude like you mean it.

Love like you mean it.

Teach without saying a word.
