Thanks to the few who take the risk

WPS
This morning i noticed a new feature – senior athletes being showcased.

Thanks to the few who take the risk. The high school security staff member created a very diplomatic opportunity to ask me to wear a shirt when i jog on campus. He didn’t have to.

But he did.

It would have been easier for him to look the other way.

But he didn’t.

What’s remarkable is that i had previously asked a high ranking school official if the running was completed by 7:15am, is it an issue? He reminded me that the cross country team runs shirtless and he was ok with it.

After returning our son to school, i went to the school store and bought two dri-fit tee shirts. A creative, easy solution.

Please forgive our absence

Habits become so powerful…yesterday was the 2,351st consecutive day of writing five daily blogs.

Please forgive our absence from Sunday Mass. We haven’t been to Mass in eight Sundays.

The more times you miss something, the easier it is to miss it again.

Not only for weekly Mass, but anything.

It’s easy to take for granted how powerful this concept is, until it wakes you up to how weak you’ve become.

Not far from The Holy Land Experience

Universal Studios expansion
Universal Studios a couple days ago driving home from the Apple Store.

Universal Studios expansion
Universal Studios: counted nine construction cranes total. Two are missing in this photo.

Not far from The Holy Land Experience is Universal Studios. The Holy Land Experience is a minute from the Apple Store. The Family that owns the tourist attraction will soon become our neighbor two lots down.

Why share that?

Not sure really. Probably has something to do with it being a small world after all.

The aha moment arrived quietly yesterday

Time flies
Three days ago. Photo: Cheryl Noel

Dear Son, i finally figured out why we hug everyday after school (in the parking lot) before getting in the car. And why we’ve done it everyday for the for the past 13 years.

So you could start understanding how important it is to have things you can count on no matter what.

Remember yesterday’s storm and how we ran to the car in the rain?

Remember last night the final thing i did was enter your room in the dark and kinda crush you with a hug as you were trying to fall asleep?

Better late than never.

Some things are not worth missing a single day.
