Dear Heavenly Father, please reign down humility

25+ year friends
Met Brian at My French Cafe near Disney University yesterday. He said a wonderful prayer for me, not knowing the burdens nor the triumphs.

Dear Heavenly Father, please reign down humility. i am astounded by Your generous blessings in the past three weeks. It is almost more than i can bear.

Dear readers, this does not mean i live in the absence of heavy, worrisome burdens. i do.

And i’d love an abundance of humility to graciously accept them both.

And to be abundantly thankful for both.

PS. Brian, in the photo, and i met 30 years ago when our dogs met for the first time in our sprawling neighborhood. The odds of us ever meeting were slim to none. Our Yellow Labs ended up contributing two litters to society.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

What is worth defending?

Disney Cultural transformation workshop
If something is not worth defending, it will never be defended.

This may be the most important question you ask yourself as a leader.

If you don’t have something worth defending, what do you think you are leading?

It was only a pop quiz but at first it felt like a major test

Paradoxically enough the author of this comment is a Chief Relationship Officer.

It was only a pop quiz but at first it felt like a major test. An unfavorable social media comment in response to my LinkedIn post made me question myself for a few seconds. My blood started to get heated, but i cooled it quickly.

And as i have learned, there is no place in my life for anger, revenge, nor bitterness.

This led, of course, to praying for the person who wrote the comment. They must be going through something challenging to make a public attack comment like that.

Seriously, i pray they are ok.

It was easier than i thought

Apple Store Mall at Millenia
Yesterday at Mall at Millenia for a business meeting.

It was easier than i thought. And it was not the reason for the meeting. Had a business meeting yesterday which included an opportunity to personally share that i have disconnected with 360 people on personal Facebook (as opposed to Facebook Pages). Normally, the stereotypical first reaction when someone “unfriends us” is anger, hurt, and confusion. This did not happen.

Can we behave in public the same way we behave in private?

There’s no way to prove it, yet the odds are decent this was John W Jolin. The odds are much higher than the odds of winning the lottery, or living to the age of 100. Honestly, it’s most likely only a coincidence.

Most people are public about their actions on LinkedIn, even if they haven’t uploaded a profile photo.

Can we behave in public the same way we behave in private?

Live your life so that if anyone ever says anything bad about you, no one will believe it.
