Here’s to long gazes

Mountain Chalet water treatment system
When i gaze on this water treatment system, i can’t help but be amazed at the history, the challenges, the future hopes. The tall green container is brand new, in an effort to mitigate potential natural water source supply issues, like drought.

Randomly upgraded to a six-sleeper facing North. Now i can say i’ve stayed in all 20 rooms at Granite Park Chalet.

Your marching orders are to gaze twice as long at the beautiful things you encounter around you.

Kevin, Sperry Chalet Proprietor

Hi Jeff!
Merry Christmas!

We are still waiting on NPS for their official blessing on next years operating dates. So I am not at liberty to lift the curtain yet.
I do expect to hear from them soon. we will put the operating dates on our website when we can.

Sorry to hear about the eye. That must be a difficult thing to adapt to.
I had a family member suffer a stroke this fall. The sudden reminders of our fragility and that the universe can demand the return of the equipment it loaned you – without any warning  – is a challenge. I think you have the right mindset to adapt to this life change. I will share your hope that medicine or time will return the lost vision. Until then, your marching orders are to gaze twice as long at the beautiful things you encounter around you.

Have a wonderful holiday.
Kevin

Driving to make time is never as fun as driving to explore.

Driving to make time is a have-to-do.

Driving to explore is a get-to-do.

Driving home was to make time.

Pushing your limits helps you know your limits. Limits are generally annoyingly underestimated.

dad

Knowing today would be a 10-hour drive, i already knew i had it in me. A month ago i didn’t.

Why?

Because i did it a month ago for the first time in decades.

Now it’s muscle memory.

Why? How?

From all the long-haul drive reps in my 20’s and 30’s.

Ew, people (Yee-haw)

Clever T-shirt saying
Perfect T-shirt for the remote trails in Glacier.

i like people. But i love hiking all day in Glacier without seeing anyone.

dad

Walking through Towson Center (Mall), we browsed Hot Topic. This t-shirt caught my eye.

Safe to assume Santa is now aware.

College Holiday

My advice to high schoolers making a college decision: Be near an airport. Ensure the cafeteria is amazing.

dad

Four (or more) years is a long time to not have great food.

College is a great time to travel. And if you can afford to fly, easy access to an airport is over-focusing.
