Disrespectful Religions?

The morning began with a three-mile walk with a High School buddy at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Vacation Club. Rene and i (along with Charlie H) were Tri-captains of our division-champion Football Team in 1976. Our “problems” are different, yet the same (lifelong).

Everyone feels the stress from two years of Covid. It’s February 20, 2022 as this is composed. We are possibly days away from “a Third World War” if Russia invades Ukraine. i always say that everyone is going through a hell no one knows about.

Those three things alone are enough to push anyone to the edge.

Life is hard.

Life is glorious.

We have to get to live with both.

Those who consider themselves a role-model for others – and possibly THE role model for society – are never permitted to be disrespectful to innocent, common, everyday citizens.

Yet why does so much noise come from some Churches?

Not having a proper answer is confusing.

Maximum dB is 60

A typical vacuum cleaner emits 70 dB.

Pastor Chuck already knew i have called the police to ask the Church to turn down their noise.

Three obnoxious residential noise culprits:

  • Live music and DJ music
  • Public Address speakers
  • Airhorns

Never brought up children being children, but Chuck did several times.

Super-optimistic, wonderfully hopeful

Some of the subdivisions, like this one which is adjacent to Lakeside Church, have hundreds of homes.

One super-optimistic, wonderfully hopeful Lakeside thing to share.

A Church in the middle of this residential acreage is a blessing. To have a Community HQ here is extraordinary.

Have always dreamt of being able to walk to Church.

Baptized Lutheran, converted to Catholicism in 1999 because Cheryl is more Catholic than i am Lutheran and i don’t think God cares.

Now, in 2022, the echo of, “God doesn’t care about your religion”, opens the door my heart to becoming a permanent, lifetime Lakeside Church member.

The proximity to thousands of neighbors and the land size provide incredible and divine opportunities to serve others and each other.

Meeting with the Head Pastor (not the lead campus Pastor, but the top Pastor) about two things, which are copied and pasted here from my Jan 18, 2022 email to Pastor Chuck:

  1. “one super-optimistic, wonderfully-hopeful Lakeside thing to share”
  2. “one big, deep, nagging concern regarding Lakeside Church operations”

Guiding mantra to stay on track, knowing the Church is surrounded by Residential communities…

No one is exempt from the law.

Easy Church

Smiling at someone you don’t know is Church.

Church is forgiving the Customer Service call center representative for the way they “went through the motions and were not empathetic to your situation”.

Church is forgiving yourself as many times (per day) as needed.

Texting someone a “thinking of you” type message and/or photo is Church.

Walking (or sitting, driving, etc) and counting your blessings is Church.
