Doubtful, spirit

Apple Watch and a building
Yesterday, a 12-noon massage. Walked five miles to get there. It’s only 1.5 miles away from home. Took the scenic route. Tried a few short running bursts. Torqued my left calf again. Thought a week’s running abstinence would be enough rest.

Doubtful my spirit will ever offer anything but cosmic love.

It hit me yesterday that if i never get to run again, i will accept it.

Love to run.

Grateful for six decades of it.

Last night the Universe reminded me of a story while i was thinking for the first time that odds are high running is over for me.

Universe: “jeff, remember when you went blind in your left eye a couple years ago?”

me: “Yes.”

Universe: “Same thing here.”

me, saying to myself: “If you never get to run again, you’ll be okay. You’ve had 60 years as a runner. Focus on what you’ve received, not what is missing. Nothing is missing. You are lucky to be alive. Enjoy every walking step you get to take. Walking is a huge blessing. Be amazingly grateful you can do that pain free.”

me, still talking to myself: “Thank you Universe (God, Creator, Energy, Cosmos, Light). i love you.”

Flawless (music video)

Full of flaws we all are.

Yes.

Perfectly imperfect.

This past weekend at Mass – when we sat close to the front/center – i felt something powerful.

(i’ve known this for decades, it’s just that it washed over me this time)

The realization that all of us are sinners.

All of us are hypocrites.

And we Christians deserve to be called those things.

Why?

Because it’s true.

So true.

My point?

Church isn’t for perfect Christians.

Heck, even some Priests can carry heinous demons.

And in the non-Christian’s name calling and the see, I told you so’s, we Christians can feel intimidated and hypnotically doubtful.

Flawless?

Heck no.

But when we understand that a crucifixion was predestined to make us flawless, perfect in our imperfections, we find peace, contentment, and joy.

And we go to Church to not feel alone (and abandoned) in our unworthiness, not to gloat about what righteous people we are.

Trust yourself

poor ATT connection
Our ATT connection in our home and surrounding area is poor. The three bars you see upper right is misleading.

Trust yourself.

What else can you do?

And if you haven’t learned to trust yourself, you should take more risks, make more mistakes, and grow your experience.

How else will trust come to you?

Have fun with this.

And have your first aid kit handy.

They’re called growing pains for a reason.

The best way to find out is to decide to

Library books Christmas tree
Yesterday afternoon at the High School Learning Commons (library) i dropped off a thank you gift to someone who exceeded my expectations.

Being decisive is one of my the most underrated tactics.

Don’t know why it’s not used more often (like daily).

Fear and doubt?

Probably.

Busy schedule?

Probably.

Best way to find out if any of that is true is to decide.

You’ll know soon enough if you still need to fear or doubt.

Dear doubt

Friends, more than friends, or married?

Guests at Disney
They are inseparable.

Dear doubt,

i know you’re close friends with fear. Actually the rumor is you’re dating (and some say its serious).

You two should break up.
