GNP Day 16, spiritually

Small group posing by mountain
Five hours into our tour. Mt Reynolds second from right.

What do you do when what you thought would happen doesn’t even come close?

Depends if it’s better than, or worse than, expected. Right?

The estimated 15-minute investment took two hours.

Thankful for 4.5 hours of sleep.

Could have been less.

Could have been in much worse context.

Hurry up and wait.
8-second video: We sat on their back porch and caught up.

So far so good.

Easy peasy to secure the second mini van keys at airport Car Rental counter.

While waiting at airport, received invitation to swing by Steve and Stacy’s place.

Serendipitously met Steve and Stacy on the back of Mt Reynolds a few years ago. That chance meeting has become a nice friendship.

They pointed out that i’m inside Glacier 99.9% more than any local.

Felt like i met Walt Disney.

Sperry royalty.

It’s weird how star struck i am.

Surrendering to it and enjoying the energy.

5-second video: Guessing wild animals would never get this close in a true (non-National Park) wilderness.
8-second video: Before Glacier became a National Park, there’s always a chance no human ever stepped foot On Mount Oberlin’s summit.

Learned yesterday, on the trail chatting with a Back Country Ranger, that National Park Back Country Rangers are being renamed Wilderness Rangers.

Wilderness.

Named after “the wild”.

None of us 21st century humans can comprehend “the wild”.
