GNP Day 11, spiritually

This is so cool to watch. Spectacular, unique solitude.
6-second video: Amazing Grace.

Wondered if the clouds would envelop the summit. Would the views vanish? Would you be able to see six feet in front of you?

Miraculously, the clouds stayed low, in the 7,000’ range. At 8,200’, the mountain-top views remained.

GNP Day 9, spiritually

13-second video: A second look…there are 11 Goats. You may notice two hikers nearby. Met them about 10 minutes later…a 70 and 73 year old “born and raised in West Glacier” couple.

Seeing wildlife deep in the wilderness is strikingly different than seeing animals from the road.

Don’t get me wrong, seeing animals from Going-To-The-Sun Road is special.

Why?

Because Sun Road cuts deep through the wilderness.

That said, there is a safety you feel from your car that isn’t an option miles from the nearest car.

GNP Day 8, spiritually

15-second video: Short-sleeve t-shirt at a place like this is glorious.
Red backpack in the mountains
Lightyear lives for the frontier.
Disney figurine in the mountains
Sing (or hike) like you mean it.

First real 2022-hike with expansive views. Glacier is becoming smaller with each additional visit.

It is feeling less like a destination and more like a (small) community.

GNP Day 7, spiritually

8-second video: Cliche, but timelessly true…nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Blogging prolifically for 14 years exposes you to opportunities and challenges no one else can consider. A curse and a blessing.

A curse because no one has experienced advice.

Blessing because you maintain and improve your ’Day 1’ karma – anything is possible.

You may fail on the journey, yet failure is a gift. But only if you choose to see positively.
