Don’t overthink its simplicity and elementary-status.

Ps. You can over-focus on it (and you absolutely should), but be careful about dismissing its childish sound. You’re welcome.

Note: No sense in offering time-tested, world-class, Disney business insights in my keynotes without a sincere challenge to the audience to apply them. And because i had never seen any keynote speakers doing it, i decided to set my own standard. It felt (and continues to feel) like a good and decent thing to do.

There’s an energy in this photo that is stimulating. Yesterday leaving Orlando. Our pool reached 91 degrees.

Sitting directly across from the dining hall dessert table, it was tempting to find a good reason to break from the no-sugar commitment.

Two tables offered up a dozen enticing dessert selections (plus there’s a self-service hand-scooped ice cream station nearby).

Freshman 15 (or 20) is a real thing, that’s how it became a phrase.

Be careful with habits, rituals, self-control, and personal vibrancy goals.

Inhale excellence, not desserts.

PS. No desserts were harmed last night…only inhaled the goodness.

Assume goodwill in the other workplace villagers

Yesterday during a leadership engagement this phrase was mentioned. i paused and highlighted it as significant to their culture. Every organization has politics.

 

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
It takes a village. My final 15 years (of 30) at Disney were spent at Disney Institute. Every organization has politics. Assuming goodwill is not easy with all people.

 

Assume goodwill in the other workplace villagers.

i’ve been telling our son (17) for years the goal is to simply be a good and decent person.

The insidiously challenging obstacle is overcoming our human condition to naturally default to being self-centered.
