Give for pleasure

Doing a repetitive job as our main focus is boring, eventually, and rather quickly, actually. At Disney we capitalize on the discretionary efforts of every employee – making others happy by going the extra-inch makes the giver happy too.

Give for pleasure. When i teach about going the extra inch to exceed customer expectations, it can, and if it suits you should, be done selfishly for pleasure.

At the end of the day, employees should have no option except this one – to deliver the wow-factor.

What is generous, is for an individual as CEO of You Inc, to pick from whatever lights your motivational fire.

Motivated to do it for altruistic reasons? Perfect.

Motivated because in the giving you receive? Great.

Motivated simply for the pleasure it brings you? Wonderful.

Serve so others benefit, especially yourself.

Disney runs deep in everything we do. How could it not?

Summa Cum Laude.

Congratulations.

This distinction is not lost on me.

Son, another area of distinction is in humbly serving others.

Church is every step we take. Go the extra inch.

Going the extra inch can be every step

Yesterday in an incoming text message.

Every step we take, every day, all day, can be our “Church”.

Small, seemingly insignificant gestures contain the DNA to convey love, compassion, surrender, forgiveness, gratitude, even healing.

Remember, please don’t let what you can’t do stop you from what you can do.

High School seniors breakfast tradition
The Juniors served the Seniors breakfast in the gym yesterday.

Parents weren’t invited. i asked, school officials said yes. Nice photo bomb Jackson.

We are here to serve.

The High School (HS) Juniors traditionally serve the Seniors breakfast in the final weeks of the school year.

It was fun to “sneak” in as a parent and hang out for a few minutes. This only happens once for some some parents.

There’s no way as a HS Senior i could have ever fathomed the parental milestone HS graduation brings to parents.

At 60, now i get it.

It’s a big deal.
