Stumbled across this in a hotel gift shop.

What’s one thing that’s surprised you about summer 2026?

How much time i’m spending outside even though we’re having above-average June temps.

Tree slowly overtaking chain link fence
Growth so slow, no one notices.

What’s a blogging challenge few, if any, know about?

The cost from having ten WordPress websites.

quote about petting every dog
Life goals i think it’s called. Not my goal but it sure made me smile. This was from my wife’s cousin’s first community yard sale. It was another person’s table.

We’ve had three yellow Labrador Retrievers in our life.

My goal was, and remains, to become the kind of person our three Labs thought i was. – dad

Happy June 1, 2026.

While the Summer Solstice is three weeks away (June 21, 4:54am), Since childhood, i’ve always celebrated Summer’s arrival on June 1st.

Why?

Summer is my favorite season because i love warmth.

Love to sweat.

Love to not have to wear a shirt to stay warm. In fact, the opposite, remove your t-shirt to stay cooler. Or jump in a pond, creek, or lake.

Laidback Summer

Resting patiently while four new tires are installed on a 20-year old car. With an online appointment and a confirmation phone call initiated from the shop a day later, it still took 2.5 hours. Laidback means not getting excited about things that seem over-promised and under-delivered. Life is good. #PrayForUkraine

Laidback Summer.

After two years of Covid, heavy down-turn in business, and consistent anxiety about a microscopic health threat – not to mention WW3 – if this is my last Summer, may it be one that has never been experienced before.

Ok, sounds like a plan.

Note: You know why? To stay on track for no regrets.
