2024 hurricane season weather report on tv
This ain’t no honeymoon. Biggest (‘fiercest’) forecast ever.

Hell is sneaky. Hell on Earth is living a life that’s a lie.

dad

i take solace knowing seconds after going blind, 36 hours after returning for a one week Glacier Summer visit break, when i couldn’t see my arm in front of me, i surrendered to it possibly being permanent and irreversible.

So while i am so excited for the high odds my blindness will be reversed, i also am mindful (though the odds seem less than 50%) that a catastrophic cataract lens implant rejection is possible.

Ps. And then there’s the reality of the 2024 Hurricane Season being potentially devastating for areas in the record-breaking paths.

Cataract surgery, spirit

Sunrise
From our seats on the lounge couch. Great karma.

Pain is unavoidable. Learn to anticipate, treat, and grow from pain.

Valium is part of the pre-op.

Valium takes the place of anesthesia.

Numbing eye drops preceded the Valium.

Grateful that each employee had a narrative describing what they were doing, before and during the thing they were doing.

Perfect example of providing the patient what they want versus what they need.

Patients need safety protocols, and appropriate medications and preparation.

What every patient wishes for, or wants, is never having to wonder what’s gonna happen next.

Bonus note of gratitude: Was asked before the doctor came in to start if i wanted more Valium. Feeling a little too ‘present’, i said a little more would be helpful. They gave me half a dose under my tongue. Which seemed to be perfect in hindsight.

God, please keep me humble

Habits determine our destiny.

dad

Culture = Habits.

Habits = Results.

Culture = Results.

The habit of starting every day on my knees since 2000.

The habit of waking daily at 5:00 AM with the habit of eight hours of nightly sleep.

The habit of embracing the opposite (paradox) of literally everything.

The habit of writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts.

The habit of .thinking .differently

The habit of living in the present moment.

The habit of hitting the publish button five times a day.

The habit of living in constant gratitude.

And on and on…

Lord, keep me humble.

Why?

All these small, seemingly insignificant, yet incredibly powerful habits can make me feel super valuable to other potentially high achievers.

What’s your evidence?

Your daily routine.

Your thoughts.

Your activity.

Your peace.

Your art.

Your prioritized choices.

A final farewell

You owe yourself whatever you think you owe yourself. Otherwise, life and you are even.

dad

A final farewell to what’s been a long, glorious run.

A long, glorious run of thinking about personal vibrancy.

It dawned on me that 15 consecutive years writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts is an insane legacy.

There is nothing more required.
