On A Scale Of 1-10

Cat's In A Cradle?

How do you measure success?

How often do you measure it?

Do you have a consistent method?

Does it even matter?

What do you do if you are doing poorly, or, really well?

How do you avoid giving up, or, getting complacent?

These are things we all need to figure out.

So last night I asked our son, On a scale of one to ten, how much do you think I love you?

His answer really surprised me.

Lemonade?

I’m thankful for a spotty Internet signal.

It drove me craaaazy for the first few days. It was not what I expected.

The unexpected happens to us all the time, right?

We mainly stereotype “the unexpected” with negative connotations.

Guess it’s just conditioning.

We can also undo this conditioning.

I’m thankful for a slow (like dial-up slow) connection. No, seriously.

Why?

Because a slow connection, beats no connection.

Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes, blessings have no resemblance whatsoever.

Reading an email from my step-mom a while back, I was almost brought to tears by this compelling story of “Faith“, hope and love.

Faith” is a dog.

Faith has two legs, not four. Faith was given away by her first owner. And putting Faith to sleep was considered. I mean, this little puppy was born with three legs and one of them was amputated.

Faith is alive and well.
