Yesterday’s High School assembly (parents invited) was led by Orlando Firefighter and paramedic Pat Kelly.

Homecoming weekend is two days away.

Praying we don’t lose a student(s) to poor choices.

When to accept defeat and when to dig in?

Surrender is fundamental to spirituality.

Surrender is also intense and difficult.

i remember surrendering to God’s will. If He didn’t want me to become a dad (the thing i came to realize i wanted more than anything in the whole world) than i would move forward without the dream of being a dad.

Is giving up the same as surrender? Or are they the same things, just different looking?

If we lose our ability to walk, and require 24/7 nursing care, and we’ve been blessed with nine decades of life, would it be easy to abandon hope and faith?

Yesterday afternoon’s Eagle Scout Ceremony.

 

Please forgive me for being a hypocrite. i try hard not to be. Being a teacher, i should be living the ideals as an exceptional role model.

But alas, i’m only human.

Perfectly imperfect.

As tempting as it constantly is, let no judgement or opinionated thought permeate my being.

Ever.

Lofty?

Heck yeah.

Impossible?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

There would seem to be no greater responsibility for a parent than to show the (potentially frightening) way.

My life (56 years) experience pales in comparison to that of an 89 and 92 year old.
