Yesterday was the coolest Orlando day in seven months.

 

Are you exceptionally comfortable building a fire? We built a “cooking” fire last night in our backyard. Making a fire in a residential area is a piece of cake for me. Why? i’ve been making and using “campfires” for close to 50 years. It’s easy for me.

Then i got to thinking this morning. Are we exceptionally comfortable building a daily fire in our heart? A fire for loving a God we cannot see?

What happens when you leave?

Last night while surfing Disney Institute’s website. It’s easy to leave the Church too.

 

Cheryl went to work yesterday (Sunday) morning because her workload is intense right now. (She also worked all day Saturday too.) Our Son and i went to Mass in the morning. Later in the day i asked him to shape his opinion of Christians based on the ones who seem less hypocritical.

For years we sat front row, left.

 

Yesterday morning i asked the 15- year old, “Where do you want to sit? We can sit anywhere.” Because we arrived 20 minutes early, our choices were endless.

He picked the very last row.

What dominates your spirit now is typical for what dominates 14 and 15 year old spirits. Don’t be discouraged by the gap you see and feel from your spirit and your parent’s spirits.

Maturity isn’t just about the age.

PS. It was a very quick stop to get a new (and free) Sim card for an old iPhone 3GS. If the 15 year old is lucky, he’ll get this dinosaur of a phone for texting and email.
