Quietly, we’ve reached 15 years

Odds are high you won’t have time to watch this TED Talk.

Yet know i felt the same “i don’t have time nor interest right now” feeling.

If you become an exception and watch (like i just did), odds are high you won’t finish (i did finish, but doubted i would).

There’s a point where the TED Talk’s silence will unnerve you.

Becoming unnerved is a glorious place.

Why?

It challenges you in uncomfortable ways.

Lean into discomfort.

Discomfort exists to help things grow: people, processes, places.

Today starts the 15th year of prolific writing.

Five daily, differently-themed blog posts.

Four leap years at 366 days each plus 10 years at 365 days each.

That’s 5,114 consecutive days.

Five differently-themed blog posts a day.

That’s 25,570 published blog posts.

Shhhh.

Don’t tell anyone.

Something whispered lovingly

Disney Keynote speaker Jeff Noel TEDx Talk
Blogging led to a 2019 TEDx Talk in Kuwait.

Something whispered lovingly in my ear.

It was as if the magnitude of the previous attempts and broken promises led to one final, Olympic-sized dare – are you really who you claim to be, Mr. “Behave-Admirably-All-The-Time” Disney?

Be a Disney Leader

Being a Disney Leader takes behaving admirable from an individual, front-line Cast Member perspective to an exponentially higher level as a leader.

Leading yourself admirably is challenging and important enough.

But leading others lifts your responsibility and accountability into a world-class public reputation spotlight — and microscope.

Ironically, in 2007, was leading the (uncomfortable/scary) conversation about using a new tool called social media.

Specifically “Web-Logs” to feed the Internet with the good news about what Disney Institute is, how Disney Institute works, and why Disney Institute matters to other National and Global businesses.

Web-Log soon thereafter shortened to a new name, Blog.

Blogging caught my eye originally as a “free” way to help Disney Institute grow our business.
