GNP Day 58, spiritually

Cabins on a hill
Back from Logan Pass, we regrouped and are driving to Browning. Drove up a local gravel road for the first time ever, providing this view. This is our favorite place to stay.

Most people haven’t published five differently-themed blogs a day, every day, for 14 years (and counting).

Most people with a blog (singular, of course) don’t remove the comment feature and social sharing.

Most people.

Most people don’t leave a trail for their children/family.

Most people do not think for themselves. Far too much FOMO. So most people are concerned about appearances.

There are exceptions.

Exceptions are rare.

Rare is 25,000+ blog posts by a single author.

The Guinness Book of World Records lists 17,212 blog posts as the official world record.

So let’s consider my sharing of private info an exception, and is acceptable — real life in real time as i’ve coined it (over a decade ago).

Here’s what crosses my mind occasionally…

What if GoDaddy committed a catastrophic error? Super unlikely. But there is no guarantee it can’t happen.

So when my anxiety surfaces from the culmination of multiple stressors, like the past two weeks…

Next blog is a GoDaddy update.

Cheryl out West, in Glacier, for five weeks.

Last year Cheryl came out for four weeks. Year before that, three weeks. Before that, just one week for the annual family week.

So five weeks is remarkable.

i love it!

It’s perfect.

13-second video: Time-lapse at Logan Pass.

We left the cabin at noon to drive West towards Siyeh Pass trailhead. Spent time at and near Wild Goose Island.

As we basked in 60-degrees and sunshine, thick clouds slowly rolled our way — as forecasted.

No-brainer to cancel today’s hike. We drove past Siyeh Bend and found a favorite pullover just East of the East Tunnel.

The time-lapse (above) was inspired by funky and low clouds slithering over Logan Pass from the West.

Day seven, today. Foliage Bend.

One last look at Hurricane Ian’s projected path. We’ll loose signal for two hours.

Would not be disappointed if our home’s projected hit weakens.

18-second video: From the popular Overlook, the trail drops another 1.2 miles down to Hidden Lake ’beach’.
36-second video: Ian is weighing heavy. But not heavy enough to buy an early plane ticket home.

Hiking is walking, outside.

You do not need mountains, deserts, or beaches to ”hike”.

You simply need two fundamentals:

  1. Walking
  2. Outside

You can hike (walk) alone or with others. Doesn’t matter.

Here’s what matters: An object in motion tends to stay in motion. An object at rest tends to stay at rest.
