Those darn Christians

Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel observation deck

Those darn Christians.

People say or think that all the time.

It’s true.

What message does that send to someone within that group?

(Say, um, jungle jeff for example.)

Feels like profiling.

Discrimination.

Unintentional probably.

Right?

But it still happened.

Be a giver and a forgiver.

It’s the best chance Christianity has to change people’s minds about us darn Christians.

Pot is legal here

Apple Store window dressing

(photo: So weird to have randomly snapped this ‘enlightened’ photo a few days ago)

Not gonna lie. The thought of buying pot in Colorado has popped into the cranium.

It’s legal.

Yeah, legal.

As in totally acceptable.

PS. Not to smoke. Just to experience the sea change in society.

That moment when you want to go deep in conversation but intentionally share something with a casual tone instead – because in that moment it’s so far away from worrying about. And you don’t want to make the other person overly emotional.

A thing that won’t have potentially profound ramifications until a future date?

Maybe in a week. Maybe not for 30 years. Maybe never.

That moment when it dawns on you that neither person may ever return to a special, favorite, or memorable place.

Driving away from Logan Pass, down along Lake McDonald, was that moment.

Public recognition is not for everyone and even painful for some

Running store storefront window

(photo: Called an audible and used a more recent photo, not one from February 2013…)

Patience is strength.

Gratitude is strength.

Forgiveness is strength.

Had only two things to say to the wonderful folks attending the surprise celebration.

  1. I don’t know what to say.

  2. Thank you.

Most of us are in a different place than we were 15 years ago.

For a blessed number, it’s a much more servant-focused place.

A place they never saw coming.

A place they could have never foreseen.

A good and decent place.
