Yesterday another random find on Pinterest. Spiritual strength is required for detachment and healthy, balanced living. Detachment and serenity are twins.

Listening to a podcast yesterday on balance i was struck by the absence (in the podcast message) of any sort of spiritual element.

Perhaps this omission is driven by the adage, “At work, never talk about sex, politics, or religion.”

What else could it be?

Spiritual awareness, spiritual values, and spiritual action.

Inspiration is derived from emotion.

Emotion is to spirit as movement is to health.

Foundational.

Necessary.

Non-negotiable.

So the Catholic Priest wipes out his iPhone at Mass

Catholic Priest using technology — Father Benjamin wiped out his iPhone while delivering the Homily yesterday.

What inspired me about Father Benjamin using his iPhone to read some scripture to support his Homily was how untraditional it was.

There had to be older parishioners who gasped.

You know, “Kids these days with their devices, blah, blah, blah.”

Yeah, and adults these days with their divorce rates, obesity, and hypocrisy.

Anyway, Father Benjamin’s passion for his message yesterday resonated with a 59-year old Dad in the very back row.

No lecturing and no spotlight

Root training — **Root** did an exceptional job of empowering individual facilitators at every table.

classroom facilitation — Each table had it’s own facilitator. The facilitator guide was uniquely designed – have never seen anything like it.

Invited to the four-hour new employee orientation, i had the privilege to walk around freely and observe all eight tables.

The facilitator was simply that, a facilitator.

There was no lecturing.

The was no spotlight.

It was a crazy-creative approach to classroom teaching.

It was cool to witness every table facilitator do the same thing as all the others, but with their own personality – the content was spelled out to a “T” and there was no deviating from it.

The consistency of delivery was striking.

What i had expected was one or two facilitator sharing the stage all afternoon.

Never happened.
