St Mary Falls was nice and with just another .6-mile we’d get to enjoy Virginia Falls. The additional .6-hike was not part of the Ranger led program. We did it anyway. How could we not. The extra two-plus hour detour was within our budget.

We made many “Gopher stops”. Henry would pull over and we all popped up to stand and take photos, or just stare at the majesty.

When the passengers stand up in their seats, they look like a bunch of gophers.

 

Henry wasn’t a preacher yet his sermon was educational and helpful. His goal was to share the good news of Glacier National Park.

I sat in the back row two-thirds of the trip and the final third, i rode shotgun.

Why?

Because there is little else to do.

While we can rely on urban nature to refresh us, there is something inexplicable about the wild.
