On a plane to WDW, spirit

A seemingly insignificant delay. It turned into a fiasco.

It’s worth repeating that our travel day isn’t to get home. If it was and there’s nothing that’s freaking us out, the delays and challenges would be inconvenient but tolerable.

We are not trying to get home for ordinary reasons.

We are trying to get home to prepare our home for what could be the first “Category 6” hurricane.

Emergency return home, spirit

Hotel entrance at night
View of the reception lobby from our building. We are leaving before daybreak.

At 7:00 AM i am greeted at the front desk by Giovanna.

Explaining my predicament as simply as i know how, she proceeds to tell me we will only be charged for last night.

The central context for our early departure is to manage the news that a monster hurricane’s eye is aimed at our house.

No one saw this coming.

i got emotional but didn’t lose it. Stunned at her gracious hospitality.

One Million acres, spirit

Mountain chalet
Sperry Chalet is center-left in this photo. It is a spiritual experience for me (and many others).

One-million acres is a huge Church.

While i haven’t been in every room in Glacier’s cathedral, i’ve been in somewhere either side of half.
