Unemployed, spirit

Sky writing plane writing Jesus
Ordinary days are the norm. Finding joy in them all day long is not.

What does it feel like to be unemployed?

For starters, context…

Unemployed means retired.

It feels great to be ‘unemployed’.

‘Praise the Lord!”

Carefree, spirit

handwritten note
Freedom: To want nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing.

When in your final life-season, did you believe you were living a carefree life?

My first thought, “i can’t remember.”

Second thought, “It’s now my burning desire to chase it.”

Have been praying without ceasing for decades.

Now the prayers are focused on retraining myself to remove as much clutter as possible from my heart, health, and attitude.

Grace, spirit

God provides Grace and Mercy. Freedom is provided by our troops.

What is Grace?

Unearned, undeserved goodness.

And then there’s the grace we can bestow on others (and ourselves).

For example, Grace is well-pleased with and attracted to, those who consistently initiate (offer) a growth-mindset, honor the temple housing everything keeping them alive, and are at peace with who they are and content with what they have.

Smiling Jesus, spirit

What makes Jesus smile?

Gotta say, this is beyond my understanding.

But if pressed to share some ideas…

Generosity…

Glacier checklists day 2, spirit

Glacier Park hikes

Glacier Park hikes
Glacier Park’s Highline Trail with college buddy Howard in 2017.

Glacier checklists, day two.

Cheryl and i (or anyone), once decently acclimated after two weeks, can hike fast or slow.

i prefer a slow, controlled-breathing pace when hiking with others.

i prefer a faster, moderately-elevated-breathing pace when hiking alone.

Whether walking slow or fast, there will almost always be frequent stops for vistas, incredible scenic beauty, wildlife, photos, water/snack breaks.
