Can you still breathe?

locker with clothing
Random moment in life…my clothes in a hospital locker. Today, January 13, 2026.

Chris gave me ear plugs, and, headphones with loud but soothing music.

Why?

Because the enclosed MRI machine is loud during certain, regular points in the 45-minute process.

Chris asked me if i was claustrophobic and i said, “How do you mean?” And she said it’s a yes or no question. She said it in a nice way.

Was thinking about Glacier and if someone asked me, “Are you afraid of heights?”

The true answer is, “It depends.”

Chris asked if i was claustrophobic in an elevator and the easy answer was no… so we moved on with the procedure and i smiled.

Not gonna lie…it was not a normal experience.

That small ‘MRI’ tube and the way i was strapped in and asked not to move…mildly claustrophobic.

Turns out, over the course of 45 minutes, lying flat on my back, i have occasion to take some long, deep breaths.

This messes with the radiology images.

Chris asked, through the headphones and earplugs, if i could breathe shallower. At least that’s what i thought she said.

Between chronic nasal-inflammation from year-round allergies and the fact i’m strapped-in in a narrow tube, well, i took some long, slow deep breathes.

The film doesn’t appreciate this.

So i did my best to breathe shallow.

Not in my wheelhouse.

But concentrating on it made the time fly by.

Note: Using “i” way more than usual in recent months. Aware of it. Okay with it. But, “i” don’t like doing it, generally.

Fire and Ash, spirit

movie screen
i’d recognize those running shoes anywhere.

To be able to drive four miles to Disney Springs, easily park, and walk to AMC Theaters…such a ‘small-town’ vibe.

But it’s a small-town vibe, in the number-one vacation destination in the world.

The world…

(Let that sink in)

Blogging world record, spirit

wordpress archived posts screenshot
JeffNoel.org “archived blogs” widget showing earliest posts began October 2008. This was the first website i wrote a blog post on.

Wrote my very first blog post October 17, 2008.

Jeff Noel.org was the only ‘JeffNoel’ internet real estate available.

The big three domain categories in priority value order:

  1. .com
  2. .org
  3. .net

Jeff Noel.com was registered to an Arizona, State Farm Agent.

Jeff Noel.net to a musician.

Jeff Noel.org was the only one of the three ‘big ones’ that was available. Jumped on it.

Then jumped on GoDaddy’s “Domain Name Backorder” feature. For a nominal fee, you pay to get in line (first come, first served) to secure an abandoned or expired domain name. GoDaddy gives owners 60 days, with multiple reminders and notices. After 60 days, if you’re first in line, you automatically secure it.

That’s why i didn’t get Jeff Noel.com until March 2009.

Three-week countdown, spirit

eMail & Blog Comments Get My Attention Quickly
After 2007 flew by, i began my Plan B plan in 2008, starting my own business. The 2008-09 Real Estate and Banking collapse led to unexpected Disney Leadership layoffs. After 25 years, i suddenly felt vulnerable for the very first time. If this craziness ever repeated, i wanted to have Plan B ready to launch.

Three-week countdown, spirit…

Spiritually, emotionally, it’s literally impossible to comprehend the daily blogging effort.

i’ve published over 31,000 blog posts in my lifetime.

The odds of never crossing a line in 31k attempts?

Low. Impossibly low.

The odds of crossing a line in 31k attempts?

High, almost certainly gonna happen.

The spiritual and emotional risks of doing what no one else wanted to do…

This “what if i unintentionally publish something controversial or confidential?”

Heavy emotional toll simply from ‘worrying’ about crossing an invisible, imaginary line.

Trusted my Disney experience, Disney wisdom, and Disney insight that i could proceed without crossing a line.

Then again, lines are often in the eyes of the beholder.

But i moved forward anyway.

How could i not?

My mantra then and still to this day, “What would Walt do?”

So i kept moving forward.

Just like Walt.

Then why organizational resistance?

Well, here’s a headliner…

What if we cross a line we can’t see until after the fact?

We are too conservative to go first.

We are too big and slow to go first.

Because nearly two decades ago in 2007, everyone was afraid of ‘social media’.

It wasn’t called social media in 2007.

We just called it “The Internet”.

The World Wide Web.

Scary.

No one at Disney Institute embraced blogging.

No one at Disney Institute wanted to go first.

Except me.

So i went.

Grinnell Point dominates the right side. Grinnell Point is the eastern, low side of Mount Grinnell. Continental Divide is everything left of Grinnell Point.
