Runner's shadows
Father and son running for their lives yesterday. Preaching and doing should be the same activity.

The straw that breaks the camel’s back is real.

Once or twice a month my wife and i volunteer at our Church. My involvement requires studying and time invested to practice a 60-second reading. This often consumes several hours of my time.

Consistently, i have the recurring conversation with myself about eliminating this one simple activity. It’s only takes a minute to read the scripture to the congregation. But it takes noticeable (to me, but to no one else) emotional energy to prepare.

Energy that often feels like too much, when added to an already emotionally-filled schedule.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

The blessing of resources

Disney Leadership Keynote Speaker jeff noel
Number three on my short list.

The blessing of resources such as time and money.

As young adults we generally have the blessing of time, but not money.

As we age, generally, the pendulum swings the other way.

Our goal as we wind down our midlife years is to create a good balance with a decent supply of both.

Desirable often comes with the less desirable, and vice versa

Lake McDonald never disappoints no matter how many times you see it.

Commercial?

Eddie’s has a long history and decent food.

Only a handful of shops.

The west side is different; busier, commercial, but the the views…oh my. The delicate balancing act of life is ensuring that we take the desirable with the less desirable.

What possesses you to write every day?

Every dang day i write five differently-themed blog posts.

The unanswered question is, “Why?”

Why start?

Why continue?

Every single day since April Fools Day 2009.

Seven-plus years.

Thirteen thousand plus blog posts.

No end in sight.

Impossible is nothing.

It’s easier when the first two are taken care of

Life is easier when our mind and body are taken care of.

A great attitude – fueled by constant gratitude – and a balanced sense of wellness feeds my spiritual core because there is this wonderful integrity stemming from the harmony of mind, body, and spirit.
